Public Notice: Sanitary Sewer Overflow

public notice

On 3/31/2023 at approximately 5:10 a.m. a sanitary sewer overflow event occurred from the result of restricted sewer main and heavy rainfall near the intersection of Beulah Street and West Main Street. The sewer spillage of approximately 2,000 gallons was contained on the asphalt area at the location.  A small amount of the spillage potentially may have entered the storm sewer located on the North and South side of West Main Street, and there was minimal exposure to the public. Village crew jetted and removed debris from the restricted line. Normal operation resumed at 7:10 a.m. Proper cleanup was done with a street sweeper and Chloride bleach in needed areas.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified. Pursuant to the requirement of NR 210, a press release was issued regarding this event. Due to a timely response to this event, approximately less than 2,000-gallon volume of sewage overflow is estimated to have occurred.
